What to Expect as a New Client

What to Bring With You

From your very first contact with us, our goal is to make the process as welcoming, clear, and supportive as possible.

1. Reach Out

The first step is simple: just give us a call at 267-461-8831, send an email to solsticetherapy@outlook.com, or fill out our Online Contact Form on our Contact Us page of this website. Our friendly team will listen to your needs, answer any questions you have, and help match you with a therapist who is the best fit for you or your loved one.

2. Complete Your Paperwork

Once your appointment is scheduled, please download the new client forms located at the bottom of this page. You can print them, fill them out at home, and bring them with you to your first session.

Prefer to do it in person? No problem: just arrive 15 minutes early to your appointment, and you’ll be able to complete the paperwork in the comfort of our waiting room.

3. Review Insurance or Payment Options

We accept a range of insurance plans and offer affordable self-pay options. Our team is happy to help verify your benefits and answer any questions, so you feel informed and at ease before your first session.

4. Attend Your First Session

Your first session is a gentle introduction—there’s no pressure and no judgment. It’s a space to get to know your therapist, share what’s bringing you in, and begin setting goals together. You’re welcome to bring any questions, concerns, or thoughts with you. This is your space.

To make your first visit as smooth and comfortable as possible, we recommend bringing the following items with you:

Completed New Client Forms

If you printed and filled out your paperwork at home, please bring it along to your first session. If not, no worries—just arrive 15 minutes early to complete them in our waiting room.

Your Insurance Card

If you're using insurance, please bring your current card so we can make a copy for our records and verify your coverage.

A Valid Photo ID

This helps us confirm your identity and complete our intake process.

A List of Medications (if applicable)

If you’re currently taking any medications—especially those related to mental health—bringing a list can help your therapist better understand your needs.

Any Questions, Goals, or Notes You’d Like to Share

Feel free to jot down anything you’d like to talk about, ask, or prioritize in your sessions. This is your space, and we want it to feel meaningful from the start.

An Open Heart and Mind

Whether you’re excited, nervous, unsure, or all of the above—it’s all welcome here. Come as you are. You don’t need to have it all figured out—we’ll figure it out together.
